Biography
Lisa Imamura and I am a Research Associate for the Andrew W. Mellon Opportunity for Diversity in Conservation. I grew up on Áak’w Kwáan Aani, and my combined interests in natural science and cultural heritage led me to conservation. My hometown is off the road system, so it was a big adjustment to move away to bigger, interconnected cities for study and work, but I enjoyed – and continue to enjoy – meeting new people and hearing their stories. Alongside conservation, I assist members of the public at the local library, support former refugees through resettlement, and volunteer at a native plant nursery. I trained in objects conservation at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada.
