Biography
Justine Wuebold is working as part-time Program Manager for an NEH funded project entitled “The Preservation of Indigenous Collections: Training for Tribal Materials and Museums”. This program is divided into three components: 1) six online courses, 2) two in-person regional workshops, and 3) extended mentoring beyond these offerings. The combined components intend to reach early to mid-career Native Americans working with tribal materials at libraries, archives, museums, and cultural centers throughout the U.S. and has the potential to reach up to 136 participants, and an equal number of mentees, over three years.
Justine Wuebold has worked in museums and cultural heritage for eight years, with specialized knowledge in collections care, conservation, and green museum practices. She holds a dual Masters in Museum Studies and Business Administration from John F. Kennedy University where she penned her thesis on Sustainable Materials in Collections Care, and previously earned a Bachelors in Art History from San Francisco State University. Justine currently volunteers in the Education and Outreach department at Ki Culture and serves as Recording Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Bay Area Art Conservation Guild. She is also an active member of the AIC Materials Working Group, the Climate Crisis Coalition, and a former regional liaison of the Emerging Conservation Professionals Network.
