Biography

Sabina Isabella Ramirez-Muro was born and raised along the border between Southern California and Baja California, Mexico. In 2023, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the Escuela de Conservación y Restauración de Occidente (ECRO) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She has performed conservation work across private collections, archives, and museums in Mexico and the United States, including Clave C&R conservation and restoration studio, CIAK Kraeppellin Research and Archive Center, Ashida-Cueto Collection, INAH Nayarit, the National Museum of Anthropology (MNA) in Mexico City, and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. She developed an interest in community-based conservation through a 2022 internship with INAH’s archaeological salvage project in Nayarit, where she collaborated with local residents to stabilize shaft-tomb tradition ceramics. Her experience has centered on freelance restoration practice and private art collections in Guadalajara, where she built her skills in collection management, including database work, storage planning, and object handling. Going forward, Sabina seeks to focus on objects conservation, with a particular inclination towards West Mexican ceramics and studying their previous restorations.
